Huskies Improve to 26-0

Maya Moore scored 16 points and Tiffany Hayes added 15 and No. 1 Connecticut cruised to a 75-39 victory Wednesday night over Providence to remain undefeated.

The Huskies (26-0, 12-0 Big East) opened the game with an 11-0 run and never trailed.

Chandler McCabe led the Friars (9-16, 3-9) with eight points.

The Huskies, who led 39-18 at halftime, hit Providence with a 25-0 run to open the second half and built a lead as large as 40.

Providence didn't score a second-half basket until 9:22 had expired when McCabe made a 3-pointer.

The Huskies are off to their best start since the 2002-03 season when they won their first 31 games.

Connecticut has also won 109 consecutive games against non-ranked teams and has won each of its past 24 games against the Friars by an average of 40 points.
