It's something every football player dreams of -- hearing your name called during the NFL Draft. And even though round one is behind us, there are still plenty of chances to realize those pro-football hopes.
There are a handful of UConn players among that group of player who hope they'll find a home with an NFL franchise.
The likeliest to hear his name called early is star-running back Jordan Todman. Todman led the Huskies to their first-ever BCS Bowl bid. Some experts predict Todman will be a Day 2 pick. His size seems to be scaring teams away from thinking he'll be a star in the pros, but his speed, quickness and special teams skills could make him a valuable utility-type player.
Offensive lineman Zach Hurd could be a Day 3 selection. The experts said has the potential, work ethic and passion to start at the next level. But there are some big questions about his quickness and ability to block in the passing game.
Linebacker Scott Lutrus is being billed as a Mid-round prospect. He seems to have all, or most of the skills needed to be pro, but still needs improvement.
Other UConn prospects to watch out for over the weekend include Defensive End Greg Lloyd, a potential mid-rounder, Linebacker Lawrence Wilson, a late-round prospect and Fullback Anthony Sherman, who likely won't be drafted, but could be signed as a rookie free agent.
The NFL Draft continues Friday with rounds 2 and 3, and concludes Saturday with rounds 4-7.
