SIMONE, HERNANDEZ COMPETE IN BEAM
Simone Biles won her third gold medal on the women’s vault Sunday, but she couldn't take her fourth on Monday.
Biles nearly fell during her balance beam routine, but recovered enough to take the bronze medal. Her teammate, Laurie Hernandez took the silver.

FELIX RACES FOR GOLD

Allyson Felix races for her first Olympic 400 meter gold medal.
Felix made her Olympic debut at the 2004 Athens Games at age 18, claiming the 200 meter silver behind Jamaica’s Veronica Campbell-Brown. At the 2008 Beijing games, Felix again finished second to Campbell-Brown. Then at the 2012 London Games, Felix finally broke through, winning her first Olympic 200-meter gold medal.
Felix also earned gold medals in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays in London to become the first female U.S. track athlete to win three gold medals at a single Olympics since Florence Griffith-Joyner in 1988.

CABRAL HEADS TO FINALS
Glastonbury's Donn Cabral made his debut in Rio in the 3,000m steeplechase and came in third in his heat to qualify for the finals on Wednesday.
He finished in 8:21:96.
This is Donn's second Olympics. He competed in the same event in London.
This time around, Cabral is not ruling out the chance at a medal.
"I perform best at the biggest races," Cabral told NBC Connecticut's Kevin Nathan in Rio last week.
How to watch: Cabral will compete in the steeplechase finals on Wednesday.
U.S. WOMEN’S FIELD HOCKEY TEAM OUSTED BY GERMANY
After suffering their first loss of the Olympics on Saturday, 2-1 to Great Britain, the U.S. women’s field hockey team looked to rebound Monday against Germany in the quarterfinal.
They came up short, losing 2-1.

U.S. WOMEN’S WATER POLO TAKES ON HOST BRAZIL
It’s the women’s quarterfinal between the No. 1 seeded United States and host team Brazil. The U.S. has gone 3-0 to start the games and defeated their last opponent, Hungary, 11-6.
If the Americans can beat Brazil, they’ll face the winner of Hungary and Australia in the semifinals on Wednesday.
