Fresh Herbed Cheese with Garlic and Black Pepper

This recipe makes about 1 1/2 pounds.

Ingredients:

8 Oz. Cream Cheese-softened

½ Stick Butter-softened

4 Garlic Cloves-peeled, chopped, and mashed to a paste

1 tsp. Black Pepper-coarse ground

2 Tbsp. Tarragon-chopped

2 Tbsp. Fresh Basil-cut into strips

Kosher Salt to Taste

Instructions:

  • In a mixer with a paddle or beater attachment, beat the cream cheese and butter until lighter and more airy. Add the pureed farmers cheese mixture, garlic, pepper, tarragon, and basil. Season to taste with salt.
  • Transfer to a bowl(s) or mold(s)of desired shape and size that has been lined with plastic wrap. Place the cheese in, pressing down to remove excess air. Cover and place in refrigerator until set.
  • About an hour before you are ready to serve, invert the mold onto your serving platter, peel away the excess plastic and garnish with crackers, vegetables, crostini and fruit. Enjoy!
