8 ounces ground beef
1/2 cup small dice onion
1 teaspoon chopped garlic
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 large plum tomato chopped small
3 tablespoons tomato ketchup
Heat a small pot over medium heat and place in the ground beef and onion. Cook while stirring to break up the meat for about 2 minutes. Next add in the garlic and kosher salt and cook for about 45 seconds. Toss in the chili powder and ground cumin and stir well. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for 2 additional minutes. Stir in the ketchup and remove from the heat.
Makes about 1 pint.
