Beto O’Rourke is again weighing another campaign — this time for governor.

Former Texas Rep. Sam Johnson, a military pilot who spent years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam before serving more than two decades in Congress, died Wednesday at age 89.

Former Rep. Ralph Hall, a political survivor whose career mirrored the massive partisan shift that marked the last 50 years of Texas politics and made him the oldest person to ever serve in the U.S. House, died Thursday. He was 95.

In an interview Tuesday with Oprah Winfrey, former U.S. Congressman Beto O’Rourke indicated he’s leaning toward a bid for president even though family considerations could persuade him otherwise.
