A 91-year-old Holocaust survivor has died in a basement in the besieged Ukrainian port of Mariupol.

Gerda Weissmann Klein, a Holocaust survivor and author who wrote about her ordeal and went on to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, will be remembered at a memorial May 1 after her death this month

Jack Waksal and Sam Ron spent over a year together at a forced labor camp during the Holocaust. After the war, they had no idea if the other had survived.

Roman Kent, who survived the Holocaust and helped make sure the world never forgot its horrors, died at 92 in his Manhattan home, his daughter said.
