Tropical Storm Fred was located in the Gulf of Mexico and could make landfall by Monday evening along the Florida Panhandle, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

Forecasters said they believed Fred would regenerate into a tropical storm on Sunday and urged people along the northern coast of the Gulf of Mexico from Alabama to the central Florida Panhandle to monitor the storm’s progress.
