At least 12 people suffered injuries and were hospitalized after a roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey malfunctioned at the end of the ride, the amusement park said.

Ride-related injuries dropped by more than 60% between 2004 and 2019, according to the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.

The family of an 8-year-old girl from Riverside said she was seriously injured after a cellphone flew into her face on a roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain on Saturday.
