Arf! Representing at Westminster

The world’s pretty pooches with pristine pedigrees are in New York through Tuesday to battle it out for the title of top dog. Connecticut is representing the state well.

Connecticut sent 123 dogs -- the fifth highest of all states sending dogs to the show.  California tops the list with 265.

At least one Nutmeg doggie, however, didn’t actually go because of a terrible run-in with a hungry band of ticks. The puppy’s prized locks were sacrificed to a groomer’s shears after Bailey - Brigadoon It's All About You – went on a three-day excursion in North Stamford, the Stamford Advocate reports.

Here are some of the Connecticut canine competitors. It, by no means, includes all. If you know of a local dog that is competing, comment below.

The information comes from Connecticut news sources, including the Stamford Advocate and the News Times. The information on all local dogs from the Westminster Kennel Club was not available.
