Burn Off The Turkey: CT Slopes Open For Season

It's already ski season in Connecticut.

On Friday, Ski Sundown will open for it's 40th season.  It will be the earliest the resort has ever opened.

They started making snow last week and have already produced 4.8 million cubic feet of the white stuff.

Operations Manager Chris Sullivan said the early start is exciting.

"It's unusual to get such cold and dry temperatures in mid-November and the quantity and quality of the snow we've made is what we normally see in January," he said.

Think Ski Sundown is early?  The Woodbury Ski Area has already been open for two weeks.  The resort prides itself on being one of the first in the northeast to open.  Woodbury will keep making snow as long as the temperature at night is 32 degrees or below.
