GOING HARDCORE: Connecticut's own Hatebreed is taking the stage at the Webster Theatre in Hartford this afternoon. The band, whose sound is best classified as "metalcore," has been making hardcore, metal/punk/rock music since 1994. Today, they're playing with The Acacia Strain. Tickets are $20. 4pm.
THE MUSIC LIVES ON: Sublime lead singer Bradley Nowell passed away in 1996, but the band's music has remained as popular as ever, especially among the college crowd. And for those who never saw Sublime play live, there's Badfish. The tribute band (their name comes from a song on Sublime's "40 Oz. to Freedom") has been around since 2001, and has been playing packed shows ever since. Tonight, they're playing at Toad's Place in New Haven. They're also playing a New Years Eve show. Tickets are $20, and you can buy two-day passes to see both shows. 8pm.
CLOSING TIME: Margaritas in Canton is closing its doors after tonight. But after 28 years in business, the restaurant is going out in style to say thank you to their loyal customers. Stop in one last time for live music in the lounge, great food and their signature margaritas. The final fiesta begins at 5pm.
