12/6: Drama On Stage and On Field

GAME OF THE YEAR:  It may be the most anticipated NFL game of the entire season.  It's Brady vs. Sanchez.  Belichick vs. Ryan.  New York vs. Boston (or Jersey vs. Foxboro).  9-2 vs. 9-2.  That's right folks, two of the best teams in football this year are going head to head tonight as the Jets take on the Patriots.  We're guessing that just about every TV in every sports bar will have the game turned on (and if they don't, it's not a real sports bar).  So which should you choose?  Well Sliders in Plainville, Berlin and Plantsville have $3 domestic drafts.  Rookies in Cromwell offers a burger and a beer (perfect football food) for under $10.  And Wood-n-Tap will pay your entire bar tab if the second half kickoff is run back for a TD (see Brandon Tate on Oct 4).

PAGE TO STAGE:  It's one of the most inspiring novels in recent years.  Tonight at the Bushnell in Hartford, see Three Cups of Tea come to life.  Following a failed attempt to ascend K2, an exhausted American mountaineer is found emaciated and lost in the Himalayas.  After being rescued and nursed back to health, he promises to one day come back and build them a school.  That turned into a remarkable humanitarian campaign that's spread across the world.  Tonight, see that story, adapted for the stage, and performed by Curtis Nielson.  Tickets are $33.  The show starts at 7 p.m.
