RETREATING TO THE THEATER: (Sorry, couldn't help it) Head to Trinity College in Hartford tonight for some classic foreign films. The school's 11th annual Festival of French and Francophone film is underway at their Cinestudio theater. This year's theme is “La Règle du Jeu: Money, Class and Power in French Cinema.” Among this year's highlights are the 1928 silent film "L'Argent," which is accompanied by a live pianist, Jean Renoir's classic "Rules of the Game," Luis Buñuel’s “The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie” and François Truffaut’s “Small Change.” The festival runs through April 17. CHARITY CHOW-DOWN: Can't decide where to eat tonight? Perhaps you should let your conscience be your guide (thanks Jiminy). You can enjoy a great dinner tonight, while helping out the National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter. The Wood-n-Tap Restaurants across the state, along with TD Homer's in Southington and Vaughan's Public House in Hartford, will donate 10 percent of sales from customers who declare their support for the fight against MS. Those customers will then be entered into a drawing for a $50 Wood-n-Tap gift card. Runs from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
CHARITY TO THE MAX: We continue on the benevolence (or maybe beernevolence) front tonight. Head to any of the Max family of restaurants tonight (or any other night this month for that matter) to enjoy some good beer for a good cause. The Thomas Hooker Brewing Co. has created a concoction called "Brewtus Maximus Pale Ale" specifically for the Max Restaurant Group. Every time someone orders that special beer, $1 will go to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center. So drink up (and call a cab).
