“Dolphin Tale” Actor Attends Kensington Screening

Austin Stowell, a 26-year-old native of Kensington, will be home from Los Angeles on Friday to open his new film “Dolphin Tale.”

“Dolphin Tale” is inspired by the true story of a dolphin named Winter, whose tail was severely damaged by a crab trap and the people who banded together to help save her life.

Stowell, who is best known for his role as Jesse in "The Secret Life of an American Teenager," plays Kyle Connellan, the cousin of the young boy who freed Winter from the trap and built an instant connection with the animal.

Stowell will be at the Rave Berlin 12 Theater on Frontage Road for the 7:30 p.m. screening on Friday. He will sign posters for fans, introduce the film and participate in a post-screening Q&A session.

Stowell next stars in the independent feature “AWOL,” playing an American soldier in Vietnam.
