Bug Out: Cirque du Soleil Coming To Hartford

We don't want to bug you but you should know Cirque du Soleil is coming back to Hartford.

The fantastic big top production will return with its latest show called "OVO -- a teeming world of insects. "

The show will open for a limited engagement starting June 17.

The name OVO means "egg" in Portugese but also represents a timeless symbol of life cycle.  OVO portrays the colorful ecosystem of insects -- teeming with life, where bugs work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love.  The story follows the community of insects as they try to solve the mystery of a giant egg that appears.

But this is a lot more than a look at a bug's life -- OVO will featured dazzling acrobatic acts including a stunning flying trapeze act with 6 flyers soaring 40 feet in the air.  The finale features 20 artists running, jumping and leaping a 24-foot vertical wall.

The production will take place under Cirque du Soleil's trademark blue and yellow big top on Market Street in Hartford, at the intersection of I-84 and I-91.
