Don't Let Your Summer Run Away

Participate in one of several road races this summer.

If you enjoy spending your free time being active outdoors, get your running gear on, get your water bottle ready and join in the Tour De Noank on Saturday, June 18.

Beginning Esker Point Beach in the grandeur of scenic Noank, the Tour De Noank offers a 5K run, a 5K walk and a kid’s race.

This is the first time the half-mile Tour De Noank kids fun race will be held before the Tour De Noank 5K road race.

Proceeds from the children’s race will benefit Prader-Willi Syndrome Association’s research. Prader-Willi Syndrome is typically present in children at birth and involves decreased muscle and mental capacity. In most cases, obesity is present.

The kids’ fun run welcomes parents to participate with children in strollers and walkers.

The first 200 runners and all volunteers will receive T-shirts and the three top runners in each age group of the 5K will receive prizes. To participate without running, you can volunteer. Volunteers are still needed.

There are also several races on Father’s Day, including the Furlongs Classic Road Race and the Branford Road Race.

The Furlongs Classic Road Race is a mile-long run in the West Hartford Center and the Branford Road Race has several different events, one five-mile long run, a two-mile walk and a one-mile kids run.

Other upcoming road races include the XTREME Scramble 1 on Thursday, June 23 , the Stamford KIC IT Kids Triathlon on Saturday, June 25, the Firecracker 5K and ½ Mile Fun Run and many more.
