Katie Holmes Filming Movie in Kent

She has been seen dining in town with her daughter, Suri.

Actress Katie Holmes has been spotted walking around the town of Kent with her daughter Suri in tow.

Holmes is in town filming a movie, according to First Selectman Bruce Adams. The production company has been setting up in Kent for several weeks, and the filming began about two weeks ago, Adams said.

Adams said he was contacted by the movie makers about three months ago, and helped make suggestions as the company worked out logistical issues. The production company rented several large homes in Kent, and also rented hotel space for the crew in New Milford and Brookfield, according to Adams.

Holmes has been spotted around town, and was seen dining at Doc's Trattoria and Brick Oven Pizza on Maple Street with her daughter Suri. There have been no sightings of Holmes' husband, Tom Cruise.

William Hurt and French actor Jean Reno are also in the movie. The crew has been filming in several areas around town, including Richards Road and Kenmont Road, according to Adams.

"There hasn't been much of a buzz around town," Adams said. Producers were concerned paparazzi might invade the quiet Litchfield County community once word got out that Holmes was shooting a movie there, but so far that hasn't happened, according to Adams.

Though the movie has no working title, a posting on IMDB calls it a modern retelling of Anton Chekhov's "The Seagull". The film is written and being directed by Christian Camargo. Camargo is an actor who has appeared in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn", 2008 Best Picture "The Hurt Locker", and several television shows, including "Law & Order", "Dexter", and "The Good Wife."

According to IMDB, the movie will be released sometime in 2013.

The crew expected to be shooting for about five weeks, according to Adams.
