Plainville's Hot Air Balloons Are Back

It's that time of year again when the skies over Plainville will be aglow with the flames of hot air balloons.

The 26th annual Hot Air Balloon Festival kicks off in Norton Park on Friday. As is the tradition, the first night will feature a "balloon glow" a dusk. Fireworks will then light up the sky at 9:30 p.m. Music will be performed by the band Avenue Groove, according to the New Britain Herald.

The balloons will launch from Norton Park at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday. Food and crafts will also be sold, and you can check out the Sock Hop or the Classic Car Show Saturday as well. There will be music, a magician and a comedian to entertain Saturday too.

The festival wraps up Sunday with one more balloon launch at 6 a.m.
