11/2: Dia De Diversión

KINGS OF SWING:  You know Vince Vaughn and Kevin James from their work on the big screen and the small screen.  But the two also know how to do comedy live.  Tonight, the James and Vaughn are performing in Connecticut.  Their Comedy Roadshow will hit the stage at the Oakdale in Wallingford (conveniently ahead of their new movie, "The Dilemma").  In addition to putting on a live sketch comedy show, there's also plenty of stand-up comedy with fellow comics Richie Minervini, Owen Benjamin and Steve Byrne.  Tickets for the show are $57.60-$79.75.  The laughs start at 8 p.m.

KISS OF THE DEAD:  We had our Halloween, now it's time for "Dia de Los Muertos."  Celebrate Mexico's Day of the Dead tonight at Besito Mexican Kitchen at Blue Back in West Hartford.  The holiday focuses on remembering and celebrating family and friends who are no longer with us.  In honor of the holiday, Besito will feature Mexican specials like Sopes de Frijol (handmade tortillas stuffed with slow cooked pinto beans and chorizo, topped with queso fresco), Chile Ancho Rellenos (Two ancho chiles stuffed with beef picadillo over a roasted red bell pepper chipotle cream salsa) and Pescado Tikin Xik (Pan-seared Chilean sea bass marinated in achiote, over a sweet plantain puree topped with a pickled onion salad).

BACK TO THE ROOTS:  Taking their cues from the likes of Bob Marley, Steel Pulse and Midnight, Tribal Seeds brings their own rock vibe to roots style reggae.  Driven by spirituality, the band has created an art form for rebel music enthusiasts.  Tonight, they're taking the stage at Toad's Place in New Haven.  Also taking part in the Rebelution Fall 2010 Tour is Zion I, a hip hop duo from Oakland, CA.  The show starts at 8 p.m.  Tickets are $15.

AND THE WINNER IS....: We're pretty much apolitical here at WYDT, so we'll just say we don't care who you vote for today, just remember to vote.
