2/8: Monday: It's What's For Dinner

FEBRUARY FEAST:  It's Black History Month, and in that vein, you're invited to enjoy a Taste of History.  The Wadsworth in Hartford is holding an evening featuring African American-inspired dishes, prepared by some of the best chefs and caterers in the area.  As you dine, you can take in "Digging Deeper," the Amistad Center's latest exhibit, which includes original works by artists Willie Cole and Hank Wills Thomas.  Restaurateur and Chef Billy Grant is honorary chair, and UCONN Health Center is the presenting sponsor.  Tickets run from $40 for general admission tickets to $550 for a premier reserved table of eight.  5:30pm-7:30pm.

PACK YOUR KNIVES AND GO:  Head over to the MGM Grand at Foxwoods tonight for a great meal at a great price.  Craftsteak, the brain-child of celebrity chef and "Top Chef" head judge Tom Colicchio is offering their Prix Fixe Dinner.  Feast on an entree of salmon or filet mignon in the restaurant's signature dining room fashioned from wood, bronze, leather and steel.  The meal is $45 per person.  5pm-10pm.

SEMI-EARLY BIRDS:  This one gives us the chance to break out a classic kids joke.  Ready?  Here goes.  Why did six hate seven?  Because seven eight nine (gets us every time).  Anywho, head to Fleming's in West Hartford tonight for their new bar menu, that promises to help you unwind at the end of a long Monday.  The 5 for $6 'til 7 menu includes five premium cocktails, five wines and five signature appetizers for $6 until 7pm.  The cocktails include Cosmos, Appletinis, Lemon Drops Mojitos and Ritas.  The wines include award winners from all over the world.  The appetizers feature a tenderloin carpaccio, calamari, cajun barbecue shrimp, seared Ahi tuna and crab cakes.  (You may now wipe the drool from your chin.)
