Phish is making their return to Hartford tonight.

ROCK WITH THE PHISHES:  For about as long as its been around, the idea of the jam band has been a major part of rock music.  And Phish is one of the two or three biggest jam bands of all time.  After an extended hiatus, the Vermont quartet is back to doing what they do best, touring.  And tonight (Friday night too), Phish phans will get to see them live and in person in Connecticut.  Trey, Mike, Page and Fishman will take the stage at the Comcast Theatre in Hartford.  Tickets are $50 (pretty much just lawn seats left).  The jamming starts at 8 p.m.

SWING AWAY:  For as long as it's been around, dancing and music have gone hand in hand.  And with the possible exception of disco, rave music (it must have another name, but we're not cool enough) and grunge (for the moshing if you call that dancing), nothing gets people jumping and jiving like Swing music.  Tonight at the Seven Angels Theatre in Waterbury, you can enjoy some of the best of the era, with Swing! Swing! Swing! The musical experience includes songs like Chattanooga Choo Choo, Minnie the Moocher, Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree and many more.  And as an added bonus, there's a special wine tasting tonight.  Tickets are $29-$37.50.  Get into the swing of things at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

FEEL THE LOVE:  Food aficionados will want to find themselves in the fair Elm City tonight.  The New HavenInternational Festival of Arts and Ideas continues tonight with a "Foodie Tour:  Oysters on the Sound."  During the festival, you can meet the chefs, peek into the kitchen, watch food and drink demos and taste specialties of the city's finest eateries.  Tonight, that focus is on Sage American Grill & Oyster Bar.  It's $40 to enjoy the succulent shellfish.  The fun starts at 5:30 p.m.
