Fabulous Farmers' Market Opens

This is the best sign that Spring’s here:  The Wooster Square Farmers’ Market is now open!

The weekend market in New Haven has grown to become one of the top ten farmers’ markets in the country, says USAToday, our source for all things farmish.

If you’ve never been, go.  It’s fantastic.

It's open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday until December 19. You can find it at Russo Park, at the corner of Chapel Street and DePalma Court.

Over 20 local farms and food entrepreneurs offer their wares, including (get your shopping list ready) – free-range & organic eggs, farmstead goat cheese, handcrafted bread, all-natural meat, milk and cheese, wheat grass, salad greens, radishes, spinach, rhubarb, arugula, honey, oysters, lobster, herbs, kale, pies, jams, yogurt, cheese, asparagus, pea tendrils, baked goods, homemade soap and more, according to their website.

Of course, much of the fare is organic or pesticide-free, and all fruits and veggies are grown in Connecticut.
