Taste of the Quiet Corner

Chris Ayotte

Get ready to sink your teeth into Connecticut's Quiet Corner on Friday night at the Willimantic Elks Club.

Taste of the Quiet Corner will feature specialty dishes from more than 16 restaurants all across the Northeast part of the state.

Places like The Mansion at Bald Hill in Woodstock, Thirsty Frog in Willimantic and Putnam's own J.D. Coopers Restaurant  will feature signature dishes.

The so-called Quiet Corner is known for being being underpopulated in contrast to the rest of the state. The rural towns feature ample farmland, rivers and forests.

The event is Friday, June 4 at the Elks Club on 198 Pleasant St,.  It starts at 6 p.m. and tickets are $40.
