Where will this pooch get his treats?

Where will Fluffy get her treats and Barkley get his bones? A West Hartford pastry shop for pooches is closing its doors, the Hartford Courant reports.

Three Dog Bakery, a quaint boutique on Farmington Avenue in West Hartford Center for the barking set, was a destination for 11 years. It hosted events for two-legged and four-legged West Hartford residents to mingle, including “Yappy Hour.”

After 11 years, the shop has lost its bark. The last Yappy Hour was held on March 19, the Courant reports.

"While I took into consideration the increased rent and the economy, the real decision was I decided to go in a different direction, so stay tuned," Roger Howard, owner of the shop, told the Courant. "It's been such a great 11 years and I'll always have my bone-shaped door knob that's been here since day one. Every time I touch it, I think about all the people who have passed through here. It feels real good to have that as my personal souvenir of this place."

The doggie bakery is a chain and the Farmington Avenue shop was the only one in Connecticut, according to the company’s “Sniff out a Store” section of the Web site.
