Local Entrepreneurs Start Daily Deal Website

Web coupon deals are all the rage right now. With sites like Groupon, CouponCabin, and Couponmom, finding on-line deals has become a daily ritual for many people. It can be fun, addicting, and can really save you some money.

A pair of local entrepreneurs here in Connecticut are jumping on the savings band wagon and have created their own coupon deal website called SavingsClique.com.

Ryan Duques and James Warner have been a fixture in the business community on the shoreline since the young age of 16. They started a local news paper company in 1994 when they were in high school and have since expanded their business savvy into many different areas.

SavingsClique.com is the latest of their business ventures. Duques said that they were intrigued by the popularity of the  daily deal style sites and wanted to give it more of a local focus. The site will feature deals from local businesses, restaurants and service providers.

Once the site gets rolling, Duques hopes to expand into other areas of Connecticut.

"People will be able to select their region and find deals that are extremely nearby," Duques said. "Someone in Killingworth  isn't going to want to drive to a bakery in New London."

The website officially launched Wednesday. The first deal offered was $10 for $20 worth of merchandise at Bishop's Orchards Market in Guilford.
