    One thousand military moms are getting a special salute this Mother's Day -- a free pearl necklace.

    The special is for Mom's and wives of servicemen and women away from home this Mother's Day.

    Bring a picture and a personal note about your military spouse or child to Bill Selig Jewelers in Simsbury or Windsor on Saturday, May 9 from 10 a.m.  to 2 p.m. There are shops at 161 Broad St. in Windsor and at 712 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury.

    The giveaway is in memory of Bill Selig Senior, a World War II veteran. The store will present 1,000 pearl necklaces to those special women in recognition for the sacrifices made by their loved ones."
