Snow and rain cause slippery road conditions across the state

Winter storm watches have been issued for the storm this weekend.

Following snow and freezing drizzle that overspread much of the state Thursday, the roads will remain slippery tonight.

Our meteorologists are tracking another snowstorm that's expected to move in Saturday night.

Winter storm watches have been issued for Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon.

It was a snow day for many children because lots of school districts closed for the day. See the full list of school closures here.

Two departments and one arrival were canceled at Bradley International Airport on Thursday morning. All other flights in and out are operating as scheduled. Avelo Airlines said it proactively canceled five flights.

The snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain moved in from the Ohio Valley and mid-Atlantic states.
