Wintry Mix Changes Over to Rain in Some Parts of Conn.

NBCUniversal Media, LLC

A storm system, along with colder air brought a wintry mix and rain to parts of Connecticut on Saturday.

A mix of sleet and snow inland in the morning changed over to a cold rain Saturday afternoon. Along the shore, the mix will not amount to much. In the hills, the mix may linger and change to a bit of freezing rain.

While we're not expecting much accumulation, a coating of sleet and snow, especially in the hills, is possible. Some of the highest elevations could pick up a quick inch or so of sleet and snow before going over to rain and freezing rain.

The rain and mix will end overnight tonight with sunshine and cold temperatures returning for Sunday. There could be some slick spots developing toward daybreak on Sunday.

Much of next week appears quiet and cooler with sunshine.
