We have a muggy Friday evening on our hands, but a generally dry night is expected as we go throughout tonight. Temperatures will be in the 70's this evening, 60's overnight, but thick fog will develop tonight and we will wake up to it tomorrow morning.

Saturday will feature clouds, some sun, and a shower and thunderstorm will be possible. Highs will near 80 degrees across inland areas, staying in the 70's at the shore.

A batch of rain showers and thunderstorms will be possible in the morning, between 6 a.m. and noon. These aren't expected to be severe, but could drop locally heavy rain.

We'll see the sun poke through the clouds after noon, and some of the added warmth will fuel thunderstorms. Some storms could be strong to severe, capable of gusty winds and small hail. Keep your outdoor plans, but please stay weather aware!

The highest severe weather threats will be across New York state, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Connecticut has a lower likelihood of severe weather, but could still experience lightning, strong wind, and a hailstone or two.

Sunday will be cooler and drier, and it will also be the beginning of a rapidly cooling trend through next week. In fact, Wednesday and Thursday could be downright chilly with a cold rain moving in.

A coastal storm system, much like a winter nor'easter, is forecast to develop on Wednesday and Thursday. This could give us another big dose of rain and even bring frozen precipitation to northern New England's mountain peaks!
