A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect for all of the state through Sunday night. Snow will continue to move into Connecticut, likely leading to 2" to 4" widespread accumulations through the evening.

After midnight, we'll see snow transition to freezing rain, which could lead to ice accretions. Near the shoreline, this should become just rainfall quicker than the rest of the state, but those areas could still see a glaze of ice. Areas at a higher elevation in NW Connecticut are more likely to see more ice.

By tomorrow afternoon, precipitation should be all rainfall across the state, and some of it could be heavy at times. This all comes to an end by Sunday evening, but by then, a High Wind Watch comes into play through Monday. Westerly winds will likely gust over 50 miles per hour through Sunday night and Presidents' Day.

Those strong winds combined with the weight of any ice still on trees and powerlines could lead to scattered power outages Sunday afternoon through Monday.

Tuesday and Wednesday will see below average temperatures before another winter storm is possible on Thursday. If this system can put itself together over New England, we could be tracking a Nor'Easter. Stay tuned!
