A strong cold front passed through last night with gusty winds and a temperature drop making today feel a lot like November. Highs today reached the mid 50s with winds gusting between 25-40mph.
Tonight the winds go calm, with clear skies the temperature will fall to sub-freezing levels. Inland CT could see the temp drop into the mid and even lower 20s in the typically cooler locations.

A Freeze Warning is in effect for the Shoreline where temps will hover in the upper 20s to mid 30s.
Sunday the wind is expected to shift out of the southwest vs. today out of the northwest. Sustained winds will range from 10-15 mph with gusts between 20 - 30 mph.
With dry conditions yet again, red flag warnings have been issued for all of Connecticut.
Connecticut hasn't been the only state dealing with wildfires, the Cannonball 3 Wildfire in NJ has burned more than 160 acres. With the wind direction shift tomorrow, we could see smoke from that fire here in CT. Wind direction will be key!
Temperatures will climb a bit by Sunday afternoon and especially Monday.
We have two chances for rain in the next ten days, and we really need it. One is Sunday night into Monday morning, and another decent chance Thursday. We will see if these weather systems can produce needed rain and alleviate or dry conditions and fire danger.
