Tracking several inches of snow into tonight

Good Sunday! Our most recent winter storm dropped between 2 and 6 inches of snow across the state, with the heaviest amounts coming in the central and southern portions of Connecticut.

Please watch your step and have good traction, as icy conditions will continue to exist through tonight! Freezing drizzle left us with a bit of a dense snow, so it might be a little tougher to remove in parts of the state. The sky will clear this afternoon with a bit of an afternoon breeze.

Tonight will be cold after our recent snow, as temperatures fall into the 10's under a clear sky and light winds. Watch your step tonight, as there will be many leftover icy spots!

Our next storm will approach on Tuesday night. There is some question as to where the storm tracks with many of our computer models showing a track that's a bit farther south resulting in heavy snow for the Mid-Atlantic and a lighter event locally.

Stay tuned! We'll be tracking another storm by Thursday. That storm system will have a greater potential for a heavier wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. As it appears right now, freezing rain would be the predominate precipitation type on Thursday.
