Another Snow Storm, Another Parking Ban

As snow comes our way again, Hartford and New Haven are among several cities and towns issue a parking ban in advance of the storm.

Snow should begin falling this afternoon, creating a difficult evening cmmute. The snow will fall heavy at times this evening and will wrap up in the morning.

The cities of New Britain and Norwich and the town of Thomaston have also issued parking bans.

The parking bans come as many streets and cars are still covered in snow and ice from the record-setting snowstorm two weeks ago.

Snow removal has not been easy for municipalities, especially the cities.

“We have a harder time clearing roads than a lot of areas because people park on the streets,” Rob Smuts, New Haven’s Chief Administrative Officer.

For the rest of the week, New Haven residents are asked to park on the even side of the street so crews can clear the roads quicker.

In Hartford, a parking ban goes into effect at 8 p.m. and you risk of being towed if you don't follow the parking rules.

More are likely to come in. You can checking parking bans, school dismissals and event cancellations here. http://www.nbcconnecticut.com/weather/school-closings/
