FIRST ALERT: Strong Storms Possible Today

The NBC Connecticut meteorologists have issued a First Alert for the threat of strong to severe storms today.

The first round of storms moved into the state early this morning and a warm front will push through the region bringing with it the threat for strong thunderstorms.

Any thunderstorm that does move through could feature heavy rain, gusty winds, and frequent lightning.

Oppressive humidity will move into the state following the warm front by the middle morning hours.

A cold front will move through the region tomorrow afternoon bringing with it another round of showers and thunderstorms.

The cold front will move through the entire state by 5 p.m. and weather conditions will improve thereafter.

Much drier air will work into the region late Wednesday night and will be present through the end of the work week and this weekend.
