Clouds may have kept temperatures down a bit Saturday morning, but the sun pierced through, shooting the mercury back into the 90s.
Those looking for relief from the extreme temperatures headed to swimming areas across Connecticut. Squantz Pond in New Fairfield reached capacity and closed to any new traffic just before 1:30, according to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
The 90-degree temperatures were still steamy, but nothing compared to Friday. Connecticut broke a number of records Friday, including a 103 temperature at Bradley Airport. It was the hottest recorded temperature in the Greater Hartford area since meteorologists began tracking data in 1905.
Sunday will still be hot, but may be the end to the heat wave, with temps forecast to be in the upper 80s. Get the full forecast here.
