Heavy rain and strong winds arrived early Friday, soaking Connecticut and making travel tough on a very busy day on the roads.
The worst of the storm will taper off, but expect to see some rain moving through overnight.
Towns were still dealing with localized flooding and scattered road closures Friday night.
Flash flood warnings were issued for New Haven, Fairfield, Middlesex, and New London counties earlier in the day.
As much as three inches of rain was expected to fall in parts of the state.
High winds took down a tree in Southington around 7 a.m., closing Berlin Street at Stonegate Road, according to Southington fire officials. The tree landed on a vehicle, but no one was injured, fire officials said.
Downed wires were reported in several towns, including North Haven and Ellington.

At Bradley International Airport, a few flights were delayed Friday morning, but most were departing on time.
With the rain came record warmth as well. The temperature reached 63 degrees at Bradley Airport Friday, beating the old record of 60 degrees, which was set back in 1957. Bridgeport also saw record warmth at 62 degrees, breaking the previous record of 60, also set at 1957.
