Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Parts of Connecticut

    Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for parts of Connecticut on Saturday afternoon.

    The warnings were for Hartford, Tolland, Windham and Litchfield counties through 5:45 p.m.

    Earlier in the day, a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Fairfield county. It expired at 4:15 p.m.

    Saturday marks the fourth consecutive day of 90-degree temperatures, the first heatwave of the summer.

    While temperatures Saturday are expected to be in the high 80s, the humidity will make it feel like the mid to even upper 90s.

    Humidity will increase as we head through the weekend with moderate to high humidity through Saturday night.

    Some towns could see a couple of rounds of showers and storms into this evening.

    The biggest threat is for very heavy rain, localized flooding and strong wind gusts.
