What to Know
- WHAT: A First Alert for accumulating snow. between 4 to 8 inches in the northwest, 2 to 4 inches for central CT and 1 to 2 for the shore.
- WHERE: All of Connecticut; less accumulation along the shore.
- WHEN: Through midday Wednesday.
Snow prompted more than 700 closings and delays Wednesday and caused some issues on the roads. The highest snow total is in Salisbury, where eight inches fell.

A winter storm warning remains in effect for Litchfield County while winter weather advisories are in effect for Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties.
State police said earlier that they responded to four crashes with injuries, 38 crashes with no injuries and 539 calls for service. Troopers also provided 38 motorist assists.

The state Department of Transportation has had a full fleet today to work on the 11,000 lane miles across the state and it includes 600 plows and 200 contractors.
With ice jam flooding across the state, including in Kent, another concern is flooding along the Connecticut and Housatonic rivers. A flood warning has been issued for Litchfield and Middlesex counties until Thursday morning, at least.
