NBC Connecticut meteorologists are forecasting rising heat and humidity as we approach the latter part of the work week.

The heat and humidity will kick up as we head into Wednesday afternoon with high temperatures for inland areas around 90 degrees and dew-point values in the low 60s. Shoreline communities will be slightly cooler with a wind off of the water.

The 4th of July holiday looks the warmest with temperatures expected in the upper 80s along the shoreline and low 90s for inland communities.
