NBC Connecticut meteorologists are keeping a close eye on some impressive rains that moved in Saturday and will make for a soggy Sunday.
The rain ramps up as we head into Saturday evening. Moderate to heavy rain will fall in as an area of low-pressure tracks to the north of Connecticut.
Expect a wet and foggy Saturday night with temperatures. Moderate to heavy rain will continue through Sunday morning and into the afternoon. The rain will gradually taper off into the evening with clearing skies overnight.
We're forecasting some impressive rainfall totals. Parts of the state could see over an inch and a half of rain. Areas prone to flooding may see minor urban and street flooding, but widespread flooding is not a concern.
Cooler air works into the state by Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon with temperatures falling from 50 into the upper 30s.
