The NBC Connecticut meteorologists have issued a First Alert for excessive heat and humidity and some school districts have announced early dismissals.
A heat advisory that was in effect statewide has been canceled.
Today will feature temperatures even warmer around 93 degrees with heat index values ranging from 95 to 100 degrees. Skies will be mainly sunny with a small chance for an isolated shower or thunderstorm.
Temperatures remain around 90 for Wednesday and Thursday. Highs will be around 80 on Friday. There's a chance for showers and thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday.
