8/12: Onyx, Motorcycles & Late Night Catechism

SLAM!: You may think of them as One Hit Wonders from the '90s, but Onyx has been drawing critical and commercial acclaim for more than 20 years.  They're in Connecticut tonight, performing at Toad's Place in New Haven.  The group is best known for their 1993 hit "Slam" (and don't think we didn't play the video over and over again) but they've got six albums to their credit, and are still hard at work. Tickets to tonight's show (with Nickel-P and Logic) are just $15.  8:00PM

HOG HEAVEN: Bikers, start your engines.  More than 2,500 motorcycles are expected to converge on Main Street in Middletown tonight for "Motorcycle Mania 2009."  The fourth annual event showcases custom and vintage motorcycles.  Besides being an excuse for bikers to get together, "Motorcycle Mania" is also a chance to feature the city's downtown restaurants and shops as well as some live local music.  It all benefits youth programs in the area.  5PM-9PM.

COUPLES COUNSELING:  It is a religious education like you've never seen.  "Late Night Catechism 3: 'Til Death Do Us Part" is playing right now at Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven. Starring "Sister," the show offers up hilarious lessons on the Sacraments of Marriage and the Last Rites.  It even includes a wild version of the Newlywed Game.  Tickets are $24.  Click here for more info. 8PM
