Unknown if winner is a Connecticut resident

Thousands in Connecticut are still without power but one of them might be holding a Powerball ticket worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

The winning ticket from Wednesday night's drawing, worth $254.2 million, was sold somewhere in Fairfield County. Lottery officials said they cannot reveal the town where the ticket was sold or the store that sold it. The store that sold the ticket will receive $100,000.

It was the only ticket to hit the jackpot, which is the largest amount the lottery will have paid out in the state and the 12th largest Powerball payout.

Prior to Wednesday night, the largest Powerball jackpot win in the state was $59.5 million. That ticket was sold in Seymour in 2005.

The winning numbers are: 12, 14, 34, 39, 46 and the Powerball is 36. The Powerplay is 4. The winner has 180 days to claim the prize.

There was also a $10,000 winner, according to the state lottery Website. In all, 28,690 tickets in Connecticut won some cash prize.
