8 Years Later: Vigil Held to Commemorate Disappearance of Missing Hartford Man

Monday marks eight years since a Hartford man went missing. Each year, loved ones come together to remember him and to pray that someday they’ll find him.

Family and friends of missing Hartford man Angel Garcia are holding a vigil to commemorate eight years since his disappearance.

Garcia went missing on Oct. 21, 2011, then 19, and was last spotted on a stolen red dirt bike near Colt Park.

The vigil is taking place from 2 to 6 p.m. at Colt Park on Wethersfield Avenue in Hartford.

"We will be doing a balloon release with his picture in hopes that the balloons will travel far enough not only to get people's attention, but also hoping for a miracle that someone will see his picture and recognize him," Angel's mom Laura Suazo said.

Friends and family are still praying for Angel's safe return.

"We still don't have a lead or anything that will help us bring Angel home," Suazo said.

Police said there are no new developments and they still maintain constant communication with the family.
