Bridgeport to Honor WWII Vets

The mayor of Bridgeport said the city has found the money to complete a World War II Veterans Memorial.

Mayor Bill Finch said the city has come up with the $240,000 to compete the monument.  The money will come from the city's local capital improvement program funds.

Finch said it was important to him and to city residents to recognize Bridgeport's veterans who fought in World War II.  The memorial is expected to be completed by Memorial Day next spring.
