Snow Led to Hundreds of School Delays and Closings, Issues on Roads

Snow began falling before midnight in eastern Connecticut and moved across most of the state, bringing anywhere from just a trace of snow in the western part of the state to as much as 6 inches in parts of eastern Connecticut.

That created headaches for some on Tuesday morning and more than 500 school closings and delays.

The state Department of Transportation has more than 500 plows on the roads to deal with the accumulation.

There were several crashes this morning, including tractor-trailer crashes on highways this morning.

In Milford, a garbage truck hit a pole, knocking out power to dozens.
