Snow began falling before midnight in eastern Connecticut and moved across most of the state, bringing anywhere from just a trace of snow in the western part of the state to as much as 6 inches in parts of eastern Connecticut.
That created headaches for some on Tuesday morning and more than 500 school closings and delays .
The state Department of Transportation has more than 500 plows on the roads to deal with the accumulation.
There were several crashes this morning, including tractor-trailer crashes on highways this morning.
In Milford, a garbage truck hit a pole, knocking out power to dozens.
