Cops Find 1 Kilo of Cocaine Through Traffic Stop

New Britain police arrested a 19-year-old Bristol man on drug charges and seized a kilo of cocaine, police said.

On Monday, police stopped a car driven by Robert Desiderio, 19, of Bristol, for a motor vehicle violation and found a cache of drugs that included 276 grams of cocaine and some marijuana, police said.

The estimated value of the cocaine police seized is between $40,000 and $100,000, depending on the quantity in which it is sold, according to police.

They also found $4,951 in what are believed to be drug proceeds.

Soon after the traffic stop, police obtained a search warrant and raided a garage at 145-147 Linwood St in New Britain, where they found another 787 grams of cocaine, police said.

They expect to make at least one more arrest.
