Crack Cocaine, Marijuana Found at West Haven Barbershop

A West Haven barbershop was shut down and a local resident arrested after authorities discovered a large amount of drugs, a wad of cash and multiple fire code violations, police said.

The night of Nov. 22, police executed a search warrant at the E&J Barber Shop at 1003 Campbell Avenue in West Haven. There they discovered 40 bags of crack cocaine, 40 bags of marijuana, packaging materials and $500 in cash, according to police.

David Ashe, 42, of Alling Street in West Haven, was arrested and charged with a number of drug offenses. He’s being held on a $200,000 bond.

Police said the barber shop was shut down and the city Fire Marshal was called out after officials found several fire code violations.
