A woman is dead and a man is injured after a crash on Interstate 95 in New Haven Sunday night, according to state police.
State police said the driver lost control of the vehicle on I-95 South on the Q Bridge just after 6 p.m. and hit the concrete barrier in the median, near exit 50.
Firefighters initially reported that two people were trapped and extrication was performed.
State police said the driver, Yolanda Exton, 42, of New Haven, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger was transported to the hospital and state police said his injuries are not life-threatening.
Part of I-95 South was closed for several hours.
